Top 5 tips to prevent credit and debit card fraud.
Whether it’s for business or pleasure, it is crucial to help protect yourself from card fraud when traveling. Following a few safety tips will help you keep your cards secure, no matter where you are.
Set up account alerts
Activate debit and credit card alerts with Card Controls. Setting alerts can help you better manage your account and stay in the know about any unusual transactions. Card Controls give you peace of mind that no one else is accessing your accounts. You choose when and how you want to be alerted. Want to get a text for any transaction over $50? Want to receive an email every time there’s an online transaction? You can do that!
Put us on your itinerary
Before you head out of town, let us know where you will be. Complete our Travel Notification form in online banking before your trip to ensure you can use your Jovia Debit and Credit Cards while traveling. This can help prevent a flag on your account for suspicious activity – like repeated purchases outside your home state or country.
Keep your credit and debit cards safe
Store your cards in a consistent location in a secure wallet or purse. After making a purchase, return your card to that location. Check that your cards are all accounted for after any shopping trip and between stores if you are out and about. Can’t find your card? Not a problem. With Card Controls, you can turn it off in online banking or the Jovia mobile app.
Report lost or stolen cards immediately

Review your transaction history 
Track your monthly purchases and give them a double check after vacation!  Do you recognize every purchase? Look out for unauthorized transactions or any discrepancies in your account statements.
